At Van Roekel Learning Center, we offer a full suite of services designed to help your child.

Van Roekel Learning Center offers highly trained educators that develop and implement individualized intervention programs for students according to their strengths and needs. We utilize researched based methods that develop the sensory-cognitive functions necessary in the development of language and literacy skills.  By incorporating a multi-sensory approach and the Socratic method, reading fluency and comprehension improve.   Our multi-sensory approach takes place in a 1-to-1 environment using the auditory, visual, and kinesthetic senses.  Our diverse team is able to assist children, teens, and adults with a variety of learning differences.

We are certified to teach Lindamood-Bell® Programs  

Lindamood-Bell LiPS®The LiPS program guides students in the of oral-motor movements of each phoneme and is used to develop overall phonemic awareness, reading, and spelling.

Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars®:  Seeing Stars utilizes multi-sensory instruction to develop the ability to visualize letters and sounds within words, otherwise known as symbol imagery.  The Seeing Stars program is effective in establishing decoding, word attack, spelling, word recognition, and contextual reading fluency. 

Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing®The instructional method for Visualizing and Verbalizing  guides students in the development of mental imagery for language which is critical for reading comprehension.   

Lindamood-Bell Talkies®Talkies is the first step to guide children in establishing the connection between imagery and language.  It is often used as a primer to the Visualizing and Verbalizing program for children with limited verbal skills.

Lindamood-Bell On Cloud Nine®The On Cloud Nine math program develops the imagery necessary for visualizing numbers and concepts, then utilizing that imagery for mathematical computation.
