We offer a full range of services designed to help your child.

Our Team develops and implements individualized intervention plans for students according to their strengths and needs. By incorporating multi-sensory methods and Socratic questioning, we help students access the sensory-cognitive functions necessary to develop language and literacy skills, thus improving their reading fluency and comprehension.

We have worked with children and their families in the field of education for over 20 years in the greater Phoenix area: Glendale, Peoria, Anthem, Paradise Valley, and Scottsdale. Our diverse team is able to assist children, teens, and adults with Dyslexia and a variety of learning differences.

Diagnostic Screening

Van Roekel Learning Center can conduct a range of diagnostic testing to determine what services need to be provided by one of our highly-trained and specialized educators. We screen for various learning differences, such as dyslexia, hyperlexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.

We are always happy to review and discuss previous test results and feedback you've received from teachers and other providers. Contact us for more information and to schedule your child's diagnostic screening.

We are certified to teach Lindamood-Bell® Programs

Lindamood-Bell LiPS®
The LiPS program guides students in the oral-motor movements of each phoneme and is used to develop overall phonemic awareness, reading, and spelling.

Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars®
Seeing Stars utilizes multi-sensory instruction to develop the ability to visualize letters and sounds within words, otherwise known as symbol imagery. The Seeing Stars program establishes decoding, word attack, spelling, word recognition, and contextual reading fluency.

Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing®
The instructional method for Visualizing and Verbalizing guides students in developing mental imagery for language, which is critical for reading comprehension, high-order thinking, and vocabulary.

Lindamood-Bell Talkies®
Talkies is the first step to guide children in establishing the connection between imagery and language. It is often used as a primer to the Visualizing and Verbalizing program for children with limited verbal skills.

Lindamood-Bell On Cloud Nine®
The On Cloud Nine math program develops the imagery necessary for visualizing numbers and concepts and then uses that imagery for mathematical computation.
